I was born in Cologne, Germany, six months after Hitler came to power.  My family, because they were Jewish, though not religious Jews, fled Germany, a country they loved and always missed.  I was raised by an unhappy mother and father and did not do well in the second-rate schools I attended. I heard only facts and labels of things and none of it interested me.  I have always felt there is more to life than the thinking, achievement-oriented life that surrounded me, but had no idea what it was or how to reach it until, now in my early 70’s, I have read all of Tolle’s books and view his tapes and DVD’s regularly.  I now know what “Being in the Present” means and it has brought me an inner joy that nothing can eradicate or diminish.  I have started a new life at a wonderful time… when I am free of the responsibilities of raising a family, and can take the time to feel the awesome stillness within me, and the glorious spaciousness everywhere no matter the circumstances.  I no longer dwell on the past, no longer live in the future.  Thank you, Eckhart Tolle.  As you now travel the world, you never leave my side.
